Inspired Dining
Soothing shades of cream, taupe and blue (*colors look very different on computer screen) set the tone for this 'let's talk art and dine" room. There is nothing better for conversation than a round table and this one gets major props for design appeal. Alternating upholstered chairs with the carved armchairs not only blends old and new it creates a relaxed space that puts guests at ease. I love the blending of all the different woods. Even the chandelier and console table are wood though they "read" as metal. The lovely cloud painting hanging over the console and the rug underfoot introduce blue which I would repeat in two major ways. Painting the walls Pediment with Taupe Tone trim I would then play with Poolhouse on the ceiling probably mixed at 50% value. I would paint the back of the china cabinet Gale Force furthering the nod to Belgian design and drawing attention to the display pieces kept there. These pieces, by the way, should be simple in form and neutral or clear in color.
