From wildly oversized banana leaves to soft ferns, we canโt get enough of these natural touches. Check out our favorite little green friends below to see how you can bring the outside in!
Itโs finally Spring! Mother Nature really took her time this season but we are ecstatic to see budding branches overhead and daffodils popping up at our feet. Beyond the beauty of the outdoors, we're thrilled that the chance to bring natural & fresh greenery into our homes has finally returned with the warmer weather.

Greenery is our favorite design tool because it can be used in so many ways. It makes a space feel fresh, vibrant, and alive. From wildly oversized banana leaves to soft ferns, we canโt get enough of these natural touches. Check out our favorite little green friends below to see how you can bring the outside in!
Ruscus

Design by Estudio Maria Santos, Photography Montse Garriga

If youโre looking for a sophisticated green cutting with the style and elegance to match your space, look no further than Ruscus. This leafy, vine-like plant goes with everything from wedding bouquets to dining table centerpieces. We love to place Ruscus in taller vases to give even more height to this already elongated beauty. Add some water to your vase to extend the life of Ruscus.

Silver Dollar Eucalyptus

Design by JDP Interiors, Photography by Margaret Austin
Fill your room with the soft style and calming scent of Silver Dollar Eucalyptus. With leaves that tend to be less saturated than your typical greenery, this plant provides a more subtle touch than other leafy plants. While eucalyptus is more of a home accent than it is a centerpiece, it can still stand out when styled in a wooden vase or a similar natural vessel.

Monstera
Big, bold, bright. These huge leaves are tropical, beautiful, and oh-so-trendy. Itโs no wonder their scientific name is monstera deliciosa - this plant looks just delicious in any room! Potted Monstera leaves need lots of space to grow, so these plants should not be shelved or tucked away in a corner. If youโre looking for a more minimalist look, place a single leaf in a glass vase with a little water.

Palm Fronds
Allow us to introduce you to your new best frond. With so many leaves attached to one frond, just gathering a few in a tall vase can make a big impact in any room. Palms can bring tropical or desert vibes to light, neutral-toned rooms or an eclectic touch to spaces framed in dark woods. Place a few palms in your bathroom to create a spa-like experience for your next bubble bath. When placed in vase with water, fronds can last up to 4 weeks!

Plumosa
The subtlety and gentle stems of plumosa, also known as asparagus fern, create soft, green details without overwhelming the space they occupy. These sweet little cuttings sit well in smaller vases that wonโt overwhelm their short stems. Though they are small, plumosa is mighty and will last for a long time when properly cared for.

Pampas Grass
When vibrants greens just clash too much with a space, dried pampas grass is a stunning substitute. With feather-like features, this grass ranges in color and creates a beautiful texture for any space. Because pampas has already dried out, there is no need to place it in water. Pampas grass is a beautiful feature to have inside, however, it is an invasive species and should not be planted outdoors.

Seasonal Branches
When you just canโt fit a trip to your local florist or plant nursery into your busy schedule, one of the most simple solutions to adding natural decor to your home is to cut it yourself! Head out into the yard and pick up a few small branches that fell during the last storm. If color is your thing, trim a branch directly from one of your trees. Be sure to use proper garden shears and wear safety gloves to protect your hands!

Donโt limit yourself to taking fresh cuttings exclusively in spring and summer. Fall foliage is so beautiful on those Sunday drives, so why not bring a bit of that warm-hued magic inside? Just one or two branches of orange and golden leaves can warm up any room. Place these beauties in a glass vase to accent the rich beauty of the fall colors.

Hydrangeas
We know, we know, theyโre not really greenery! But hydrangeas are just so beautiful that we had to include them. While these classic flowers range in color from purple to green to blue, white will always be our favorite because of its simplicity and versatility it provides in any space. Hydrangeas can be finicky to care for and need their water changed frequently, but these lovely flowers will last for days when tenderly cared for. The beauty is worth it!

Wax Flowers
Unlike hydrangeas, the wax flower has a little more green and a lot less bloom to it. Small but mighty petals intermingle with thin leaves to make a textured and colorful presentation. Their soft scent and delicate blooms will enchant you and add a touch of sweetness to any space. Just like the plumosa, wax flowers make the most impact in smaller vases.
