The 14 Gabby Pieces From The Scout House I'd Buy Again
Gabby partnered with us on The Scout House and provided the furniture featured here at a discount. Gabby is also one of the brands we carry at Scout & Nimble. I personally selected every piece for this home and Iβm excited to share how these pieces have worked in The Scout House and give you my honest thoughts on each one.

When I designed The Scout House, I held every decision to one test. Could someone walk in and tell what year it was built? If the answer was yes, it was out.
That is a hard test for furniture. Traditional pieces can feel like they belong to another generation, and anything too current has a date on it the day it arrives. Gabby is the line I used in six rooms of this house because it passes. The silhouettes are classic, there is always one small detail that gives a piece personality, and every time something arrives I sit down and have the same reaction. This is really comfortable.
I ask the same question in every room. What is the star here, and who are the supporting characters? My stars are usually the foundational finishes, the floors and the wallpaper and the windows, which means a lot of my furniture is a supporting player on purpose. You will see that in these fourteen. A few of them lead. Most of them are here because they make everything around them better.
1. Ezekiel Mindi Wood Sideboard
The hardwoods in this house are light and airy, so the foyer needed something substantial and darker to hold it down. It is a small room with a beautiful sight line down the hallway toward the living room, and whatever went there had to make you stop and register that you were somewhere. Two drawers, three cabinet doors, bun feet, and faceted fronts that catch the light. It is large for the space on purpose.
It does not jump out at you, though. When people walked in, I think they noticed the wallpaper first. What the sideboard gave them was a feeling. Grounded, substantial, interesting, even in a small room. If you want your entry to feel wide open, this is not your piece.

How Iβd bring this home: If you have a small room with light floors, donβt be afraid to choose larger, darker furniture.

How Iβd bring this home: A coffee table takes more daily life than anything else in the room. Choose one that already has some character and you will never worry about adding to it.
When I design a seating arrangement with a sofa across from the TV, I almost always anchor it with matching round side tables. The simple profile keeps the room balanced, and the warm finish adds a layer of texture without asking for attention.

How Iβd bring this home: If you have 2 sofas next to each other, choose a larger round option. I love a curve breaking up those clean lines.
4. The 70" Kirkwood Trestle Console
This sits behind the sofa. It defines the seating area and gives me another place to layer lighting, books and collected objects. It is one of those pieces that makes the whole room feel more intentional, and almost nobody could tell you why.

How Iβd bring this home: If your sofa floats in the room, place a console behind it to make use of the space and add a lamp where you need it.
5. Ferdinand Dining Table, 108"
There is no formal dining room in this house, so one table had to carry Thanksgiving and Tuesday night. It also sits right in your view line the second you walk into the family room, so it could not blend into everything around it. Turned spindle legs, a parquet veneer top, and a silhouette borrowed from antique French farm tables. It seats eight to ten, and it cannot feel too good for homework, a laptop, or a drink that gets knocked over. A table you're careful around is a table nobody ends up using.

How Iβd bring this home: If you have just one dining space, choose a table large enough for holiday gatherings with a finish that can handle everyday family meals.
6. Royal Tuxedo Arms Upholstered Arm Chair
At the two heads of the table I used upholstered armchairs on casters in a high performance fabric. Those are the two seats that get pulled out, sat in and pushed back every night of the week, so that is where the performance fabric matters most. Using different end chairs and side chairs is the whole trick in this room. It is what makes a dining room feel like its own moment and not a set you ordered all at once.

How Iβd bring this home: Mix two dining chair styles, using one style along the sides of the table and the other at each head spot.
The Ferdinand has a lot of presence, so I wanted the side chairs to bring a casual feel to it. These are a dark ebony stain with seagrass panels on the seat and back. The texture is awesome, and it adds another layer to a room that is mostly wood on wood. They are a big part of why this table works on a Tuesday night.

How Iβd bring this home: If your dining table feels formal, pair it with more relaxed chairs to soften the look.
8. Cameron Swoop Arm Swivel Glider
In a sunroom the windows are the statement, so I wanted these four chairs to recede. Light, comfortable, cozy, and not the thing you notice when you walk in. The upholstered skirt gives them a relaxed, slipcovered feel. I let the wallpaper go a little bolder to balance all of the natural light. For me it always starts with one question. How do you want to feel in this room? Once I know that, the size, the light and the architecture usually tell me the rest.

How Iβd bring this home: If you have a beautiful view, choose comfortable seating with simple silhouettes that let it take center stage.
9. Sirius Sungkai Wood Console
This is the console in the sunroom. I like that it is open, so you can store things underneath it, and I love the ball spindle detail along the edge. It feels so fresh. In a room where the chairs are meant to be quiet, this is where I let a little detail show up.

How Iβd bring this home: Choose an open console if you need extra storage, with room underneath for baskets, books, or whatever the room needs to hold.
10. Andrea Nightstands
This nightstand really is the best of both worlds. It is an open nightstand, but with one drawer. I love the reeded drawer front and the details in the hardware, and the drawer is soft close, which you appreciate when you are opening it half asleep. The bottom is open with a shelf. That shelf is my favorite place to keep all of my books and magazines, and it works just as well with a basket to hold everything you need within reach. A nightstand is one of the hardest-working pieces in a house, which is why I think it is a place worth investing.

How Iβd bring this home: Choose a nightstand with both a drawer to hide clutter and an open shelf for the things you reach for every day.
11. Burkhardt Dresser
The dresser anchors the primary bedroom. Across from the bed I wanted a piece with enough presence to balance the room, but it also had to do its job. A bedroom only feels calm and uncluttered when there is a place for everything that would otherwise be sitting out.

How Iβd bring this home: Start with smart storage to keep everyday clutter out of sight, then focus on styling your bedroom.
Gabby carries through the whole primary suite, and that continuity is what makes the bedroom and bath feel connected and not decorated one room at a time. The cabinet in the bath is an easy detail to overlook, and it completely changes the room. One piece of real furniture makes a bathroom feel like part of the house.

How Iβd bring this home: If you have the space, add a freestanding piece of furniture to your bathroom for extra storage and a more furnished feel.
This is technically a dining chair. I used it at the desk because it feels like residential furniture and not office furniture. The skirted base softens the room and helps the office feel connected to the rest of the house, not like a workspace that got dropped into it.

How Iβd bring this home: Think about how youβll use a piece in your home rather than limiting it to the room or category itβs sold for.
Gabby table lamps tend to have generous proportions, and that is what many home offices are missing. People often choose a lamp that is too small or too utilitarian for a desk, when a larger one adds warmth and helps the room feel like the rest of the home.

How Iβd bring this home: Choose an office lamp one size larger than you think you need
Furniture you can actually live on
I don't worry when someone walks into this house with a cup of coffee or a glass of red wine, and I am certainly not asking kids or pets to stay off the furniture. The case pieces are heavy enough that they don't shift when a drawer gets shut with a hip and not a hand. None of that is decorative. It is the difference between furniture that ages and furniture that just wears out.
Good furniture should make you feel at home, not afraid to enjoy your home.

Is Gabby furniture good quality?
Yes, and the construction is where it shows. Soft close drawers, real weight when you move a piece, and finish work that still reads well up close. I have used this line across entire houses, including all six rooms of the Scout House, and I come back to it for the same two reasons every time. Comfort and build.
What style is Gabby furniture?
Traditional and classic, with a fresh twist. Think antique French farm table proportions, turned spindle legs and seagrass panels, updated with hardware and finishes that keep a piece from reading old. It sits comfortably in a modern traditional house, which is exactly how I used it at the Scout House.
Is Gabby furniture worth the money?
For the pieces you sit in and open every day, yes. You are paying for soft close drawers, solid weight, high performance fabrics and detail work that survives close inspection. The accents are the easiest place to find that out for yourself, since a lamp or a side table asks a lot less of you than a case piece does.
Where can you buy Gabby furniture?
Gabby sells through design trade and retail partners rather than direct to the public. You can shop over 500 Gabby pieces at Scout & Nimble, including lighting, dining chairs, consoles, sideboards and bedroom furniture, and most of the collection ships free. Everything named in this post is available to shop.
