Welcome to one of the most beloved rooms in the Tri Delta house. This bright, airy sunroom is favored by many of the sisters for its abundance of south-facing windows and its prime location, tucked away behind the formal living room. Because this room is so special to the young ladies living in the house, we knew we had to retain its warm, inviting nature. Read on to see how we transformed this awesome space!

Originally, the floors featured a dark floral carpet that was more reminiscent of a fall evening than a summer afternoon. The walls were painted in a very yellow taupe tone and the windows were covered with standard white vinyl blinds. There was so much potential and we couldnβt wait to dive in!
First things first: the old carpet had to come up. We were left with a lovely blank slate and some very interesting geometrically patterned floorboards - more on that here! A gorgeous blue patterned wallpaper was laid over the yellow walls, instantly refreshing the room. As one of the main colors that represents Delta Delta Delta, blue was a huge inspiration for us throughout the project.
The sunroom is very monochromatic and features so many incredible blue tones. For a rich base, we selected a navy carpet with a white cross hatched pattern. This particular carpet is made with super durable nylon and a Scotchgard protector. This keeps dirt or other crumbs from sinking into the fibers, making messes easy to clean.
Because this room faces a fraternity, we wanted to provide a bit of privacy for the young women who would use it most. It was a no-brainer to select woven blinds. These casual, cool, coastal blinds bring in that perfect textural element while also warming the room up with their color.
When we learned that the sisters liked to study in the sunroom, we knew it was imperative to include a proper place to do so. Both sides of the room are balanced with a table and chairs. The Shanghai Dining Table, has such a fun shape and is the perfect spot for study groups. We paired the table with the sweetest grouping of chic cafe chairs. The Paris Dining Chairs are the rattan dining chair of our dreams and weβre a little jealous that we donβt have a style like this at the office.
A Scout & Nimble favorite, the Sweeny Five Light Chandelier illuminates either table with that lovely sort of soft light that is perfect for studying. The aged brass features and white shade give a subtle nod to Tri Deltaβs colors. Oh, and those scalloped edges? Donβt get us started.
We bring focus to the center of the room with the Ellington Sideboard. With three storage cabinets and a gorgeous speckled texture, this sideboard brings functional, coastal charm to any room. Sheβs handcrafted with solid mahogany and features a thoughtful diamond motif on each door. This cabinet is the It Girl of the sunroom.
Marina Di Ravenna At Dusk Art from our Wanderlust Collection. This pop of warm orange tones is a departure from the cool blue tones around the rest of the room and we love how it balances out the color palette. Those warm tones are matched by the sweetest bundle of sunflowers in our Busan Ginger Jar.
This room is all about symmetry so on either side of Marina Di Ravenna At Dusk, youβll see two Blue & White Drip Table Lamps. These ceramic tables lamps arenβt your standard console table features. Their unique drip motif is exactly how we love to feature perfectly imperfect style. The glass at the base of the lamps modernizes them and almost makes it look like they are floating.

Playing opposite of the sideboard is a custom light blue sofa and the Santa Barbara Cocktail Table. The white oak finish keeps the coastal theme going while the detailed legs add a traditional sensibility. We styled the table with a Bone and Brass tray, making it easy for the sisters to move the decor around when they need to make full use of the tabletop.
That final touch on the cocktail table is added with the Navy Colorblock Flower Vase. Playful and modern, this vaseβs traditional shape is made new with a dip of navy paint that goes so well with the navy carpet.
One architectural detail you might miss if youβre not looking carefully are the shiplap ceilings. There are so many coastal motifs amongst the furnishings and decor of this space, but we couldnβt resist including this extra touch of texture.
