Kitchen Reveal | A Guide to the Hillside Retreat

Watching a home come together is such an amazing experience for our clients and for us! For more details on all the products we used, check out the lookbook we made just for Hillside Retreat!

Setting the Stage with Fabulous Wood Floors

Light and airy tones make up this home, which is why a lighter stain was needed for the wood floors. The engineered white oak planks are warm, soft, and the perfect complement to the beams on the ceiling and light natural stones found throughout the home. The natural color variation of the wood makes matching wood tones a snap, plus it adds a ton of charm and character.

The Perfect Paint Colors for the Job

The walls are decked out in Benjamin Moore’s Classic Gray. This off-white beauty is a Scout & Nimble favorite because of its neutral tones, skewing neither yellow or blue. Benjamin' Moore’s Chantilly Lace pops on the kitchen cabinets. It’s just a tad lighter than Classic Gray and brings out the beautiful shine of the silver-toned cabinet pulls.

A Backsplash that WOWS

To get the gorgeous tile backsplash, we used Clé Tile’s Weathered White Zellige 4" X 4" tiles. This shining tile is a glazed terracotta that is made up of dozens of shades of white, pink, gray, cream, and blue, giving it that opal-like appearance that wows from any angle. The imperfect texture and tone of the tile creates a beautiful, varied look that is unmatched by more uniform tiles. It is this imperfect feature that really makes this kitchen bespoke.

Our Absolute Favorite Countertops!

These countertops are a tried and true Scout & Nimble favorite: London Sky Quartz from Zodiaq. We’ve used this particular countertop in several projects, including Lakeview and Hilltop Home, and there’s a good reason for it! Man-made quartz is stain and bacteria-resistant, meaning cleanup is a breeze. For more on the benefits of quartz, check out our roundup of the best non-marble countertops!

Psssst! We know you’re wondering about this amazing hood and the hardware we used on the cabinets. The hardware is the Amerock Edona Mushroom Cabinet Knob and the Top Knobs Cabinet Pull from the Chareau Collection. The range hood is the Montrose Range Hood.

We love how all of these amazing materials came together and we hope you do too. Oh, and because we know you’d ask, the stone on the fireplace is the Harvest Mix from Earthworks.
