Bring in Texture + Pattern
Just because a rug is made with natural fibers doesn’t mean it has to stick to the predictable jute color story. While we do love that natural hue, there are plenty of patterned natural fiber rugs plus some that feature interesting raised textures. Rebecca Cartwright & Alicia Held Morris used a low-pile striped rug in the bedroom of their Naturally House project to create visual interest.

Whitney & Co. also used a patterned textured rug, but this time in the kitchen of their Cape Cod Reno project. This rug adds the perfect pop of color to the bright, white kitchen. The gold in the rug pulls out the brass hardware and pairs well with their lighter toned wood floors.
