Sailmaker Drawer Chest

Three drawers behind serpentine fronts, which is the detail that keeps a 42 inch chest from looking like a box. The curve catches light along the top edge and shades the bottom. A White Painted Linen finish layers crisp paint over woven linen, so the weave shows through where the bow turns. Soft champagne-toned twisted bar pulls warm up the white without pushing it toward brass. At 19 inches deep it fits a narrow hallway wall, and 34 inches high puts the top at lamp height rather than table height. The plinth base finishes it cleanly at the floor.
