Eclectic Coastal Dining Room

In this dining room, I decided to take a modern and eclectic approach to traditional coastal decor. The main color palette is a deep, ocean blue layered on top of white and wood. Most of the artwork is a direct nod to coastal decor with the Seashell Sign and the ship sketches that tie in the blue. The colorful, abstract painting is inspired by San Francisco Bay, so it ties in the coastal vibe in a subtle way and really gives the room a fresh and modern feel. I wanted the room to feel eclectic, yet cohesive, so the main furniture pieces in the room stick to a palette of white and wood. Two white S Chairs would be placed at either end of the Brandon Table with a Diamond Bluestone pillow in each to bring some color up from the rug. Two Filmore Chairs in Natural would be on either side of the white and chrome dining table, providing easy seating for six. The tall Linea Console ties in the wood of the chairs chairs and the wood tones really anchor the mainly white room. Two Uttermost Bearinger Pendants hanging over the dining table would really bring in another touch of nautical. My favorite rooms are always white with a lot of design elements layered on top. My first choice for wall color for this dining room would be Benjamin Moore's Simply White, though I think these items would also work well over a gray like Celery Salt. There's nothing like a little blue, white, and nautical-inspired decor to bring a modern beach vibe right into your home!
